Founding

Simon & Schuster was founded in 1924 by Richard L. Simon and M. Lincoln Schuster, and it is considered one of the most important consumer publishing houses today, publishing more than 2,000 new books annually. Simon & Schuster titles are available in print and digital formats in more than 200 countries and territories around the world. The company is committed to providing high-quality information and entertainment in all print, digital, and audio formats for readers worldwide.

Audio Publishing

Simon & Schuster Audio is one of the largest and most distinguished audiobook publishers, producing audio editions of titles from Simon & Schuster as well as from external publishers, in addition to original Simon & Schuster audio productions. The audio division also includes the Pimsleur language-learning program, one of the fastest-growing language-learning series in the world.

In celebration of its centennial in 2024, the company compiled the “Simon & Schuster 100” list, featuring 100 books from its history that represent the depth and breadth of its publishing program.
