A Path of Experiment

The Search for Self
In the age of artificial intelligence, understanding the essence of human existence is becoming increasingly important. Volker Ventelmann and Stephen Hartmann embark on a journey of self-discovery, exploring its evolution, its relationship to body and soul, and its connection to Christ as the embodiment of the human self. “We wish to encourage deeper reflection on the question of self and conduct research to create a living counterweight in an age that fights against the formation of unique individuality through the self and seeks to replace it with a detached, impersonal standard. Recognizing ourselves as beginners in a conscious understanding of the mind, we seek fellow travelers in the task of describing the human self itself and preventing a machine fueled by misleading AI concepts from supplanting it.”

Contents: The Evolution of the Human Self – Ancient Saturn, Ancient Sun, Ancient Moon – Earth and the Birth of the Self – The Evolution of the Self Through Great Civilizations – The Present Age – The Self in Philosophy (Plato, Aristotle, St. Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Albertus Magnus, Fichte, Schelling, Hegel, Nietzsche, Rudolf Steiner) – The Action of the Self in Body and Soul – The Seven “I Am” Statements in the Gospel of John.
