Andreas Wenderoth, born in 1965, who admits to suffering from hypochondria, completed an internship at the Berliner Zeitung newspaper and then became a freelance reporter. He won the Theodor Wolf Prize for his first report. He writes articles and profiles for publications including Geo, SZ-Magazine, Marie and Die Zeit. In the spring of 2016, his critically acclaimed book Half a Hero (Ein halber Held), a poignant story of a person with dementia, was published.
