Bianca Pizzorno (Sassari, 1942) lives and works in Milan. Since 1970, she has published more than seventy works, including essays and novels for children and adults, which have sold more than two million copies in Italy and been translated into many languages. She has also translated works by Tolkien, Sylvia Plath, David Grossman, Enrique Pérez Diaz, Tove Jansson, Soledad Cruz Guerra, and Mariela Castro Espin. Her latest book is The Sex Lives of Our Ancestors (An Explanation for My Cousin Loretta, Who Wants to Believe She Was Born Via Parthenogenesis)(Mondadori 2015), And the Dream of a Sewing Machine (Bombiani 2018), And Sortalegi (Bombiani 2021), And Woman with a Book (Salani 2022), as well as two pamphlets of short stories – Piete di via Romulo Gessi and Nata Sotto un Cavolo – published by Henri Pyle (2021 and 2022).
