Marco Diramo was born in Rome in 1947. He graduated in physics, then studied sociology with Pierre Bourdieu at the École Polytechnique des Hautes Etudes in Paris. He worked as a journalist and cooperated with the newspapers "Paese Sera" and "Mondoperaio", as well as with the newspaper "il manifesto".
