- A researcher in the field of modern Arab history, interested in studies of historical biography, the history of historical writing, and the analysis of historical texts in their late Ottoman context, with a special focus on the Arab Orient in the nineteenth century. It is concerned with studying the relationship between the self and history, narrative and memory, and how local historical awareness is formed outside formal and authoritarian frameworks, through biographical texts, testimonies and non-traditional sources. He has a number of academic research and translations.
