How to Save Democracy from Artificial Intelligence

How to Save Democracy from Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence has become ubiquitous in record time, and we are faced with a fundamental question: How does this technology affect our ability to understand and solve the challenges we face as a society? In this book, Henrik Skaug-Sitra demonstrates how technology is interfering in everything from individual rights and human interaction to political processes and power structures. Through concrete examples, such as digital versions of news anchors, automated decisions made by AI systems, and the growing influence of global technology companies, he shows how AI can alter fundamental societal values. “How to Save Democracy from Artificial Intelligence” is an inspiring call to action for anyone interested in technology, politics, and social development. Through examples, research findings, and rigorous analysis, Sitra demonstrates why we should strive for a future where AI serves democratic governance, not undermines it. This book offers fresh insights and represents a valuable contribution to the ongoing debate on how to mitigate the greatest risks while simultaneously seizing the opportunities presented by technology to ensure the continuation of a vibrant and just democracy.
