There is another way. In 2024, journalist Nicole Eglov visited twelve Swiss farms, including the Radislehof farm that inspired the book’s title, which is forging new paths to healthy and sustainable food production for all. Eglov spent three days at each farm, immersing herself in the realities of life within their farming communities. She learned about edible forests, local livestock breeds, and water harvesting systems. In conversations with farm owners, she sought to discover the changes needed to make food production more sustainable while still meeting the growing needs of the population.
An interview with a researcher from the Agroscope Research Institute and a scientist from the Institute for Organic Agriculture Research (FiBL) provides insight into the current state of scientific developments and complements the findings and ideas that emerged from the farm visits.
The book shows that solutions exist, and that there are many paths leading to them. Politicians, farmers, and consumers are all called upon to take action.
