| About the Author | Pierre-Alain Friedez, born in Moutiers in 1957, is a general practitioner and a member of the Swiss National Council of the Social Democratic Party in the Canton of Jura since 2011. He previously served as Mayor of Fontenay (from 1997 to 2008) and as a member of the Parliament of the Canton of Jura. He is a member of the National Council's Committee on Security Policy. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where he chairs the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons.
