Green Party policies – ambition, illusion, reality

سياسات حزب الخضر – الطموح، الوهم، الواقع

Not Translated

Founded in 1980, the Green Party was an amalgamation of many diverse regional environmental and alternative groups. Anti-nuclear activists and environmentalists were joined by members of the New Left, spontaneous activists, former members of communist groups, and finally other politically disparate forces such as the Action Group for Independent Germans (AUD), which provided the party with a reserve of politically experienced activists. In terms of numbers and political influence, three groups dominated: the Greens, the “colored” groups, and the alternative groups. The latter two groups emerged from the remnants of the anti-authoritarian and liberation protest movement. They sought to continue the political positions of the student uprising of the late 1960s, which later gave rise to opposition outside parliament. The "Colored People" group arose from Marxist communist groups and Maoist organizations. Despite their small number, they were highly organized and had extensive tactical experience, which made them an extremely important element in the development of this party.

They occupied key sites, maintained them, and expanded their range. As for the alternatives, they considered themselves closer to a cultural revolutionary protest movement.
