As the dehumanization of Palestinians reaches its peak, Adam Raz returns to investigate the roots of the conflict, shedding light on an aspect of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War that has been strategically removed from collective memory: the looting of Palestinian homes, shops, and farms by Israeli fighters and settlers.
Thanks to extensive research into primary sources - military reports, newspapers, letters and diaries - Raz reconstructs the chronological history of these "disappearances" and presents a clear analysis of the case from a socio-political perspective. His work reveals the connection between the raids and the policies of then-Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, which aimed to expand Israel's claims on Palestinian lands and weaken its economy, leaving it with nothing to return to.
