Winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature 2023

A child is born who will be called Johannes. An old man named Johannes dies. Between these two points, John Foss gives us the details of a full, remarkably condensed life.

The novel begins with the thoughts of Johannes' father as his wife goes into labor, and ends with the thoughts of Johannes himself as he begins a day in his life where everything is exactly the same, and yet so different. The novel "Morning and Evening" is a novel that deals with the beautiful dream that our lives have meaning.
