About Jussuf Idris
Youssef Idris was born in the Berom neighborhood in 1927. In 1951, he graduated from Cairo University with a degree in medicine, and initially worked as a doctor. Idris's first literary attempts began during his medical studies, when he was a political activist within the left-wing National Committee of Workers and Students. After a few years, he became a writer and journalist in Cairo.
