The Gateway of Initiation

The Rosicrucian Mystery "The Gateway of Initiation" is the first of Rudolf Steiner's four mysteries, staged at the Gottham Theatre. This first play depicts the encounter of a group of individuals seeking spirituality around a spiritual guide, brought together by fate despite their apparent differences. Spiritual beings also operate in the background of the main characters' events and experiences. In this first part, the Rosicrucian Mystery, through its archetypes, reveals the dynamics and challenges of a sophisticated, fate-based society, where karma is manifested. It also shows how the actions and experiences of each individual, far from being confined to their originators, resonate throughout the community.
