This book deals with the historical development since the beginning of the European Enlightenment. Instead of narrating important events, he focuses on the analysis of a political religion, which, as a metaphysics of materialism, is a crucial ideological cause of these events. The central path leading to the Enlightenment is depicted as the development of a new natural science and technology. This Western innovation of a natural science based on axioms enabled the birth of human enlightenment. Understanding the laws of nature included not only material liberation, but also the intellectual liberation of society. But as a social reaction to this process, a form of enlightenment also emerged, a form based on metaphysical materialism that accompanies the light of material enlightenment as a shadow, but which has gained dominance in societal politics and in Western universities. The spread of these ideas by missionaries, which reached its peak in the nineteenth century with the ideas of Karl Marx, gave rise to a parallel universe full of pseudoscience. Therefore, the prevailing opinion that the ideas of Marxism are outdated is contradicted by this opinion. The Church also promoted the political religion of metaphysical materialism, turning it into a mere social framework. Many of the strange obsessions of this metaphysical Enlightenment movement are presented here, and their roots are described. These concerns include, for example, the belief in global climate change caused by the carbon dioxide molecule necessary for life, the existence of multiple human races, and managing a pandemic with a virus that causes influenza-like infections.
