فهم السلفية .. السعي إلى اتباع نهج السلف الصالح

This book...a comprehensive look at the most misunderstood movement in modern Islam: Salafism.

The Salafist movement inspires fear and dread among outsiders who consider Salafism synonymous with religious extremism. As for the Salafis themselves, it is a title they cherish very much, and is always in danger of disappearing.Salafism changed the face of Islam, and its ideas extended beyond its ranks. However, common perceptions of it go beyond cliched stereotypes. In his book Understanding Salafism, Dr. Yasser Qadhi delves into the origins of this movement, beginning with the earliest debates in Islam and leading up to Salafism today, in both the Western and Islamic worlds. In an analysis covering Salafism in the Middle East, Europe, the United States, and Africa, he highlights the theological ideas of Salafism, debates within Salafism about political participation, and its relationship to other schools of Sunni Islam.
