Limbus Publishing House represents an important cultural actor in the contemporary Austrian literary scene, contributing to the emergence of new literary voices and offering space for stylistic and thematic experimentation within a framework of intellectual and social engagement.

Origins and Foundation

Limbus Verlag was founded in the city of Innsbruck in 2005. Four years later, it moved to Hohenems, before returning in 2011 to Innsbruck, which remains its permanent base.

Literary and Political Focus

Limbus is dedicated to contemporary German-language literature, with particular attention to works by Austrian authors. The publishing house is known for its politically engaged literature, addressing themes such as National Socialism, the challenges of adolescence, stories of origin and social milieu, women’s lives, and narratives of emancipation and personal development.
