Scribe has been operating as a fully independent commercial publishing house for over 40 years. What began in 1976 as a desire on the part of publisher Henry Rosenblum to publish “serious nonfiction” on his own, then morphed into a multi-award-winning company with more than 25 employees in two locations - Melbourne, Australia and London, England - as well as a scout in New York, and a team specializing in on-the-ground advertising and marketing in the United States.Scribe publishes more than 65 non-fiction and fiction titles annually in Australia, about 60 in the UK and Ireland, and about 30 in the US as of 2017.The House currently has editors specialising in book acquisition working in our offices in Melbourne and London. They spend every day sorting manuscripts and submissions from around the world, commissioning and editing local books, in a tireless quest to find the best books to find, contribute to their production, and present them to readers.
