University of Minnesota Press, headquartered in Minneapolis, is one of the most distinguished and intellectually daring academic publishing houses in the United States of America, as it represents the intellectual and scientific arm of the prestigious University of Minnesota. The house was founded in 1925 at the initiative of the university’s Board of Trustees, and from its beginnings it carried a clear message based on publishing peer-reviewed scientific research that goes beyond the limits of traditional theorizing to make a real impact on global culture and awareness. The house succeeded inTransforming from a local press serving the specialties of the American Northwest to an international beacon that leads contemporary critical and philosophical trends globally.

The philosophical and economic model of the University of Minnesota Press was based on the principle of “avant-garde leadership and intellectual courage”; While most university presses in the mid-twentieth century focused on traditional history and regional science, Minnesota Press turned toward critical theory, modern European philosophy, and studies of contemporary visual culture. The house has made a leapA quality position in global academic circles by being the first and primary publisher that transferred and translated the masterpieces of French philosophy, deconstruction, and European social theory into the English language, laying the cognitive foundations that formed humanities departments in American and international universities for many decades. The production and intellectual structure of the house is characterized by strict diversity and boldness in choosing titles. It currently publishes approximately 100 to 110 new titles annually, in addition to publishing peer-reviewed scientific journals and world-famous psychological and diagnostic tests (such as the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Test). All of our books undergo rigorous, double-blind peer-review by peer panels and an academic board to ensure the highest levels of integrity. The house is at the forefront of international references in the specializations of political and social theory, cultural and media studies, critical theory, studies of human geography and urban and monetary planning. It is also widely known in the fields of indigenous studies, comparative literature, disability studies and social diversity. The University of Minnesota Press's creativity was not limited to complex theoretical research, but it also led a strong presence in the "regional general publishing" sector dedicated to the American Midwest. It publishes comprehensive nature guides to wildlife, and picture books celebrating Minnesota's culinary and arts diversity, in addition to its unique specialty in publishing intellectually and artistically distinguished children's and young adult literature. At the beginning of the twenty-first century, the house was one of the first pioneers in digital transformation and adaptation to technology. So I established a platformInnovated in cooperation with the Graduate Center at the City University of New York, it is an open-source digital platform that allows researchers to publish their interactive academic books and add visual and audio materials accompanying the written texts, which changed the concept of the academic book industry globally and achieved wide spread.
