In the spring of 2023, I collaborated with the design team at Penguin Random House Publishing and was commissioned to design the Fern Press logo. The goal was to bring a touch of elegance, simplicity and nature to the logo, gracefully emulating the fern's openness. As Susan Dean, Creative Director at Vintage, described, “The logo was inspired by images of ferns in bloom, embodying them waking up to the sunshine and warmth of the earth. Instead of choosing a more obvious representation of the fern, the team took a metaphorical and suggestive approach.The result is an elegant, circular shape that embodies the global reach and scope of Fern Press.”
The "Marion Regular" font was chosen for the logo by the team.
In addition to the static logo, I was commissioned to produce binary animations for social media and internal applications.
