Mujeeb Latif, born in 1954, is a professor at the GEOMAR Helmholtz Center for Ocean Research in Kiel, and winner of the Max Planck Prize for General Science in 2000. He is a meteorologist and author of numerous publications on climate change. Since January 2022, Mujib Latif has been President of the Academy of Sciences in Hamburg.
