Our planet Earth is a water planet, as three-quarters of it is covered by water. Water exists in many forms, from seas, rivers, and lakes to clouds. It is the origin of life, an important source of energy, and a basic requirement for our food supply. However, humanity's goal seems to be to deprive itself of this basis for life. Climate change, in particular, exacerbates water shortages.Water is in serious danger, and it confronts us with drought, floods, heavy rains and shortages of drinking water. In his new book, leading climate and ocean researcher Mujib Latif clearly outlines the danger facing humanity and how it can ensure a livable future.
