When Apple moved its factories to China to take advantage of cheap labor, it had the upper hand and dictated the terms. It sent thousands of engineers across the Pacific,

trained millions of workers, and spent billions of dollars building the world’s most sophisticated supply chain.

 

But what Apple didn’t anticipate was that its massive investment inadvertently gave Beijing a weapon of choice.
