The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies published the book **Introduction to Politics and Political Science**, written by Ali al-Jarbawi. He is one of the books of introductions specialized in presenting a general comprehensive framework in the field of political science.Although it is mainly directed to students of this major at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, those generally interested in the field of politics will find it smooth in its presentation, in addition to the useful information it provides.
The book consists of two sections: the first section includes three chapters; Chapter One deals with the definition of politics and its scope.Chapter Two provides an extensive presentation on the subject of science, its fields, branches, and specializations, with an interest in analyzing the difference between the natural sciences and the social sciences, and explaining that and its impact on the extent of scientificity of each.
Chapter Three reviews the development process of the discipline of political science from its inception in the mid-nineteenth century until now, passing through the successive stages of transformation it has gone through.
The second section of the book, which includes four chapters, is specialized in addressing the main branches of specialization, which are:Political theory, comparative politics, political effectiveness, and international relations, each of which has its own chapter that provides a comprehensive analytical treatment, including the path of its historical development, a detail of its topics, and an analysis of its methods.
