Ambiguity is a fundamental feature of natural languages, and it plays a pivotal role in them. Contemplating ambiguity deepens our understanding of our linguistic practices and of language as a social art. Ambiguity is related to our cognitive abilities.
Outside of formal science and limited areas of science, ambiguity seems ineradicable.The book addresses the views presented in the literature on ambiguity, and presents a view of ambiguity that is not consistent with the theory of supervaluation, although it agrees with it in that classical logic is hypothetical logic, and is not completely consistent with epistemology, although it agrees with it in the presence of limitations. The proposed logic of the three-valued ambiguity, but it does not agree with most common types of three-valued logic. This proposed logic is an extension of standard logic.
