We aspire to publish books that are poignant and relevant, and to honor poetry as an intangible but essential act and an essential means of expression.Brick Books was founded in 1975 by Stan Dragland and Don McKay, and began by publishing small poetry booklets. Today, we publish entire volumes of works by a single author, at a rate of eight new books and nine reprints per year. Brickbox's mission has always been to curate outstanding works by Canadian poets and poetry translators, both new and established in the field. More recently, we have added to this mission a commitment to continually expanding the range of voices we employ and feature, while maintaining standardsExceptional editing has earned Breakbox a distinguished national reputation.
