Welcome to lit Verlag, one of the leading German-language academic publishers, with its multidisciplinary international orientation. To date, we have published approximately 15,000 titles, of which approximately 1,900 are in English. Annually we produce around 1,000 titles, including 150 new editions.Lit Verlag was founded in 1980 by Dr. Wilhelm Hopf. It is one of the few remaining academic publishing houses to be managed by its owners themselves. Contrary to the prevailing trend, this situation will not change in the future. Editors Witt-Dietrich Hopf (Berlin), Dr. Michael Reiner, and Guido Pelman (Munster) also ensured the house's continuity for many years.The authors have local support through offices in Münster, Berlin, Vienna and Zurich. In addition to the “Wissenschaft Aktuell” manual (64 pages, 60,000 copies), several objective indexes are published digitally and in print.History, Theology, Political Science, Sociology, Education, African Studies, Cultural Studies, Law, Philosophy, Languages and Literature, Ethnology/Anthropology, Communication Studies, Academic Books, Asia Pacific, Economics, Geography (catalogue distribution totalled over 200,000 copies). Topic catalogs show the focus of the publishing house.
