The history of Oycom Publishing House cannot be described as a straight line, but rather a series of ups and downs with constant twists, turns and surprises. Instead of a strict action plan, since 1989 we have been committed to producing forward-looking reading materials to embed the principle of sustainable development in society.
In 2005, the house began its book program through publications on different topics and in a variety of formats.Along with many individual works, Material Stories is an exceptional book series created in collaboration between OICOM and the Center for Environmental Science at the University of Augsburg. The series not only presents scientific facts, but also addresses the interactions between materials and society, telling stories that reflect the complex relationship between humans and the environment. The series has been such a huge success that its creators and editors, Professor Armin Reller and Dr. Jens Söntgen, were nominated.
