As an independent publisher Fledgling Press aim to make new authors available to readers quickly and effectively. We combine publishing printed books and electronic books to give authors the best opportunity to gain exposure. Our goal remains the same; to publish and promote debut authors and new voices who have never been published before. We take pride in publishing Scottish authors and writers, with first time authors from other countries taking their place in our catalogue too. We also pride ourselves in the use of local talent in the preparation of books and production – in 2011 establishing an art competition with the Edinburgh College of Art. Competition winners’ work currently adorns the covers of Viking Gold and When the Turaco Calls. Local artists, graphic designers and illustrators are used wherever possible and we have a healthy intern programme where they don’t just have to make the tea. We want to give our readers and authors the same exciting and passionate experience that our staff experience every day. As an independent publisher, we can provide you with a more personal and caring service than larger publishers find time for.
