Analytic Philosophy and Logic

Analytic philosophy remains a vital philosophical tradition, still centrally preoccupied with the analysis of language and thought.

The papers in the first half of the volume contribute to the project of developing a general theory of meaning, a continuation of the original Fregean aspiration to get at the structure of thought through the basic structures of language.

With the next several papers there is a shift to the analysis of reference for terms, both singular and general.

Others have their starting points in essays of Hilary Putnam, while others discuss theories of truth.
